If we do not maintain our natural beauties and resources, no one will.

“Earth from Above” is an Outdoor Photographic Exhibition. Yann Arthus-Bertrand is the head photographer of this high-flying project. Every shoot of this outstanding project not only reflects the geography aspects also the human living aspects. French Embassy of Singapore and Singapore Environment Council co-present this project.

Heng Chiang Meng, Chairman of Singapore Environment Council, reveals “from a rare perspective, the photographs in this series illustrate the astonishing beauty of planet earth. The variety and splendour of the landscapes dazzle the eye and impress upon us that our planet is, indeed, a very special one. All these, however, will disappear if we do nothing to limit the massive damage we inflict on our environment.



The 59 years old French, Yann moved to Kenya in 1976 to study the nature of lions in Maasai Mara Reserve. By flying over the landscape in a balloon, he discovered the beauty of the nature of the world.

He, then, realized that the resources of the world will become extinct day-by-day if we do not maintain. So he decided to record them by his profession, the photography.

For this massive project, Yann carefully researched for 10 years. Most of the photographs were shot between within an altitude of 30 and 3,000 meters above the earth. Exactly, he flied over 76 countries and spent 3,000 hours in the helicopter. His mode even took him to Antarctica, Alaska, Southern Argentina, Australia, Siberia and Africa.

There were two assistant photographers and a skillful pilot with him.

Among the over 100,000 shoots, only 120 are presented. Yann considers those that they can really communicate his own vision. Moreover, he believes that the geographical coordinates of every shoot will allow other photographers to locate the same sites and continue this ambitious undertaking.



Today Earth from Above has been translated into 24 languages. More than 60 millions people in about 70 cities have seen this outdoor project.

In Singapore, The show will end in 17.January.2005. It situates in Orchard Road. It starts from in front of Border bookshop until the Manchester United Café.

Unbleiveable Photo road show

The show just provides the facts that we need to discover.

"The earth from Above". It is the road-side photography show in Orchard Road in Singapore. Many singaporeans and foreigners feel that it is unbelieveable. The patterns of the world from the above are very amazing.

Beside the natural beauty of our earth, the show also has the points on economics, nature, traditional and world peace. A french photographer took all those photos and it took three years to finish it. But the research started since 1990.

See the usual event from the different angle is creative.

Knowledge is everybody's friend. Although it is good or bad, it gives the people new foods to improve their life. All the knowledge source has one aim, it is "to provide." But you must know how to absorb it.

It totally depends on how you take it. If you take it in the good way, you will improve. Also you take in the bad way, it will somehow improve you too.

Especially, emphasising on the materials, events and moments that are happening nearby you should be seem in the out of the box way. For example; in the football match, a player scored a goal and he run away from his teammates. Why? Does not he want the appreciation? No!

The main reason is he does not want the kiss from his teammates because his wife will be jealous for that. It is the way we should improve our knowledge and understanding of the events.

Improve yourself steadly and read more books especially the ideological books. It can give you new angles to absorb.

Un-Believeable! Really?

The application in Nanayang Technology University (NTU) for Engineering courses and the news that Roy Kean leaves Manchester United with mutual consent make me surprised.

Wow! today I have really applied 4th Eingineering Courses as my priority majors in NTU (they are followed by a communication course). Amazing! Mom supports me as usual. I also feels that I am flying and need to be very strong in both mental and physical to face this tall challenge.

Beside my Mass Comm course, I also need to study A Level Maths, AO Level Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Business for the entrance exam. They will be my real opposites if I am short-listed in next year April.

GOD! Help Me!

One more surprised! My wonderful football idol leaves my favourite club with immediate effect. No background details are available as usual. Both sides still to be in relax mode. But I can imagine how many time Sir AF and Captain Kean had the arguments about his comment to MUTV last three weeks ago.



Now, no more Kean. Really depressing.

But I wish for MU with very good luck. Hope they can bully again in EPL soon. And one more person needs to leave MU with self-understanding is no others than Sir. AF. I believe all the MU supporters will appluse me for this comment.

32 years is long enough for Australia to have another chance to take part in World Cup Finals.

Middlesbrough's Mark Schwarzer became hero as he saved two dramatic penalty kicks from former two times World Champion, Uruguay. Although without having former champion in the Finals is the blow, Aussies really deserve they chance is fightihg challenge to win the World Cup Finals.



Uruguay came to Sydney with 1-0 advantage in the first leg in Montevideo. But the visitors were levelled when Marco Bresciano scored in 35 minutes.

Then, both of them played the attacking game fiecrely. Number of Yellow Cards came for both sides. Merseyside players, Harry Kewell and Tim Cahill, were the main force of Socceroos' midfield. Guus Hinddink's, Socceroos coach, man marking technique also worked very well. None of the Aussie defenders let happen Uruguay's favourite passing game. Only Tony Vidmar struggled to mark Inter Milan's striker Recoba. And the former was booked. Aussie's Harry Kewell also rediscovery the form that he had with Leeds United.

With many missing chances and excellent saves, the match head to penalty shootouts. Although socceroos captain Mark Viduka missed one, Mark Schwarzer made two excellent saves from penalty expert south americans.



Finally many hardworking years through, Aussie is there again. Now they really have the quality squad with experience coach. Guus Hinddink becomes ledgend again outside his motherland, Holland. After the South Korea test, it is another good challenge for him to send Socceroos to as far as possible in Finals. But they really need Lady Luck and Injury Free Environment for that.

World Cup 2006 Play offs

Slovakia critized refree for poor judgements while Swiss, Czech, Uruguay won and T&T drew with Bahrain.

Slovakia coach, Gusan Dalis, was furious after the game and claimed that his side found it difficult to play against 12 men, as he believed that the referee, Massimo De Santis, favoured Spain throughout the game

"I want to congratulate Spain on their win although things happened in this game," he said. "I’m disappointed that in a big country like Spain the referee was so favourable to the home team.
But for me, Spain is the obviously better than Slovakia. If they have mode, they can beat any teams on the earth.

From my personal point of view, Spain can beat anything on the earth if they are in right mode. They refree may be favoured them, but Slovakia were really outplayed. And Spain is the team that we really need in WC showdown.



or Czech, I consider them that they have already one step forward to WC 2006. But Norway's has poor home form and they are better in away in recent qualify matches. So we can say that the match is still very much interesting.

Going to play in Turkey is the job that no football players wish. They have aggressive, die-heart and Eager funs. They are very dangerous in home too. Although Swiss has two goals lead, I think the match is still much open.

Australia said they still have chance, although they were outplayed by Uruguay team. Also Uruguay is obviously better. Austrailia should appreciate their goal keeper for a lot of fantastic saves. If not they have finished in the first match even. But we have to aware that the second match will be in Sydney and their coach is Guus Hiddink, a very intelligent coach who guided South Korean to semi-final in 2002.



In T&T and Bharain match, I support both of them. They really are reserved to be in WC showdown with their hardwork and enthusiasum for football.

Nowsday, earthquakes occur and suicide bomb attacks happen around the world often. For me, my personal point of view, all were happened because of their lack of appreciation on religion, peace and human rights.

Firstly look at Ache, an Indonesian city, where Tsunami hitted most, a few years back it was the lively hell for all the Indonesian Chineses. Government killed them there. Now the circle moves 180 degree and the time has back for them. Moreover, the native decrease their belife to God day-by-day. They do not go to Mosque even in Friday.

You see, the city is now flat. There are many aid and supports from the whole world. But they still can not re-build it. Many strong earthquakes are still happening. And the corrupted government even takes some bid money for their own sake.



Then, the hurincanes that made United States of America, who controls the politics of the world, shortage of fuel. It is the effect of attack to Iraq. USA seriously stated that Iraq has mass military and its facilities which can affect the future of the world. People of globe protested for USA's desire for the war upon Iraq, expect for UK especially. But what the citizens of the world understood is, the solution to attack Iraq is not for peace but for simply fuel. Now the prove is there.

Come on Bush! To whom you can go and shot for the hurincanes? God is so thankful for teaching him such a lesson.



Wow! Another strong earthquake? This time is in Kashir, the border of India and Pakistan. It is the warning from the God that they have to respect traditional. A few weeks before the earthquake, there was a gay marriage ceremony in Kashir in Pakistan side. But as soon as the hounorable guests found out that, they had gone back straightly without drinking water even. Then, you see!



The same goes as we can see what is happening in France riot and current Jordan Blast. Also we can study about "Blast in London." Every action has reaction. Do believe this! If not it is very sorrow to be proven.
